The Hungarian Malteser
Charity Service, celebrating its 20th anniversary this year,
announced a nationwide charity promotion starting 11 February 2009 at the
Millennium Court of WestEnd City Centre, entitled "
Hungary has the
largest heart".
A 35m2 model of
Hungary has
been built in the
Millennium Court,
where hearts made of small red rugs or pieces of textile were expected from all
over the country. Three weeks were devoted to gathering good intentions in
WestEnd - and not simply money. Once learning about this promotion from the
Service, over 200 cities took part in creating hearts and sending them to the
collection point. Anyone could make a heart of any size - it is the intention
that mattered.
